Dec 14, 2022 · I was bitten and got sick, died but did not turn zomboid. I started a new character and found my corpse still laying in the grass for days. I've disabled blood infection, saliva only, thought I got bit but I just got a laceration and scratches, but symptoms of the Knox infection started kicking in and eventually I turned.
Bite is certain death in 1-3 days, laceration is 25% chance at dying, and scratch is 7%. If nothing happens in that time you will survive, unless you have changed the infection mortality time in sandbox mode. Wound infections and zombification are two different mechanics.
