When I saw the initial pics, I noticed the condenser & coil config were identical to mine in a 1986 318 w/B43G. The later pics confirmed yours as a 1983 318 B43G machine. So, I have a 1986 B43G configured the same (with the newer replacement coil and external condenser).

A couple online Deere parts stores sell the Deere/NGK plug and show “standard gap .025” in description. It looks like your jumper to 12 volts is done correctly -- so if the other terminal of the coil is getting switched up and down it should provide spark. I always recommend to put a wood dowel down the cylinder (remove both plugs) and turn it over by hand (either from under the tractor or with engine removed) and mark the rod at the spot where the cylinder is the highest. Do both cylinders they should be the same.
