Someone suggested a while back to use Razer Surround. FFXIV will use that as a (virtual) sound device, and it can dynamically route the audio. I have looked for this and it appears that FFXIV just uses the Windows default at the time of launch. I don't believe this changes or even updates if the default changes (but I'd have to verify).When you connect a PS4 controller, it sometimes tries to set the controller as the sound output.
