2013 ford edge climate control not working.

I bought the suv in April of last year and never had to use heater so may not have been working when I bought it. Took to my mechanic and he had to replace the switch that opens and closes the door for heat/cold (sorry, don't remember the technical term). He said this is a big issue with the Edge. From the diagrams I'm looking at it appears that the blower motor resistor is not working and/or the climate control module has a short. I would recommend replacing the blower motor resistor first. And the climate control module second.
