This will be our first trip to St. John and the USVI.We are staying at Gallow Point. Aside from driving around the island is there any practical need for a jeep while we are there? Why continue the forum if when people ask a question they get scolded for repetition. As far as the fish ID, I don't know my blennies but that blenny looks like a Yellow Pike Blenny like you thought (just comparing pictures).

Kmacc, if you can snorkel flat without lowering your legs much, you can do Mary Creek. Just enter past the wall where the Leinster Bay trail begins (not at the opening in the shrubs before that). Carvel Rock off St John is maybe what you're thinking of but (a) you have to find a boat with an experienced captain who'll take you there and (b) the water has to be flat as a pancake to get you close enough to climb out onto the rock - no beach, just a very big, steep rock. 6.
