Historical data still shows those entering 1996 (finish 2000) as the easiest time. And those entering 1990 (finish in 1994) as the most competitive time.Before at least USMDs could safely match anesthesiology, radiology, general surgery (to a lesser extent). Seems like that’s changing. Maybe anesthesia was easy to get in, but Surgery and radiology have been pretty competitive the past few years. Surgery match rates for USMDs have always hovered in the low-mid 80s.
