Hello, I have a 1985 Mercury Black Max, 200hp, and the oil pump seems to have just quit. Fortunately, the Alarm warned me when the oil level dropped on the tank atop the motor. Rather than spend an arm and a leg on an oil pump right now, I would like to bypass the oil pump, and run on a mix.

I've heard of guys installing a grease zerk - my concern would be air sucking in through the grease zerk, it can't really be trusted to seal a crankcase!
