They were great for 35-hp Shovels in 1982 when they came into production, but when you’re making more than 100 ponies, the motor doesn’t want to stay attached to anything. I figured a Twin Cam swap would take care of most of those weak links in the driveline.It's mik 42 and I figured out the problem had to swap out the ignition with my original. Fixed that problem. Runs like a top. But it smokes like a freight train on start up smells like a gas and oil mixture. Doesn't smoke as much after running a bit. Gonna change the oil again now that the shake down is over . I may need to tune the carburetor ...
Aug 20, 2008 · Anyone know if the 96" will fit my 88" touring frame? My 2001 FLHT motor is on it's last leg due to a lifter failure that resulted in cracking the cases at the lifter bore.
