Trust NBME. The percentage NBME gives you is a scaled percentage. It normally gives you a score that is 1-3% lower than your actual score. You need to manually count your incorrects if you want to use the score converter. I was confused over the same thing and the guidance I got was to trust the NBME % chance of passing.75% equated percent correct, 99% chance of passing.
