This is my message to everyone: to fully enjoy a CRPG, don't ever compromise on your characters. If you want to build a demi-god, don't demi-ass it. Do the research, get power-hungry, use and abuse every single weakness in the engine, make it fabulous. You want to build a very specific roleplaying character, go for it.

But 12 is sufficient for a base charisma, as long as you have a means to boost persuasion and the skill points to do it. But for OP, just straight 20 levels of Eldritch Archer is still very good. I did that one of my earliest runs through the game and it was a lot of fun. If you were playing on a higher difficulty, you might think about doing a more complicated build, but on normal there's no need.
