I 100% agree that Volume 1 part a was 100x harder than part b. I got a 44/60 on the first part of the Official AAMC CARS Volume 1 (only 72%ish), which was rather disheartening and worrisome. Jack Westin passages seemed a little more involved/the questions sometimes took a couple steps of reasoning iirc AAMC is definitely the easiest. The passages are generally straightforward and the questions are almost all "right there" kind of questions, meaning you can find evidence in the passage that only supports one of the answer choices.
