Months ago, I posted an issue where when calling for heat (gas furnace), the outside A/C unit comes on a runs for about 1 minute, then shuts off, and the heater continues to run normally. The house is heated normally and reaches the set temp like normal. Confirmed the Ecobee is wired correctly (it was installed by an HVAC professional).AC is called for on the Y wire, so without that the ecobee has no way to use the AC. If you have a C wire (often times blue) then you shouldn't need a PEK. A PEK is used when no C is present.
