In Alien, the trip from Thedus to Earth was supposed to take about a year and LV426 was roughly half way, but we can assume the Sulaco in Aliens is faster than the Nostromo in the first film. It's unclear exactly what W-Y knew about the Derelict and the xenomorph. The actual board itself (everything but the keycaps and cable) was around $370 USD from Korea.
