The safety on the SEC 9 pivots from the front of the safety so you have to push up and down on the rear of the lever to engage it. To put the safety on use your support hand because you're done shooting and it doesn't matter which hand you use. Don't try to be mr.cool like the gun reviewers it's ok to use two hands.Yes, I read that as well. That was why I started to write in the first place. I thought that by it being spring loaded "down", it should release simply by sliding the slide back. That did not work, but releasing the mag did. Anyway got er done. The slide would stay locked back when there were still rounds in the magazine. This happened more than once. Plus often when you put a new (loaded) magazine in and pull the slide back to put a round in the chamber the slide got stuck in the back position.
