Marlin model 60 buffer upgrade.
The Model 75 has a similar looking buffer. I'm hoping, for the time being, that I can use the buffer from the model 75 to replace the one in the Model 60 and at least get the 60 back up and running. I removed the buffer from the 75 with no difficulty. The problem I'm having is that I absolutely cannot get the pin for the buffer out of the 60.

Haven't taken it apart yet but Im sure it's the buffer. I have replaced a buffer before on a 1960s vintage rifle but I'm surprised by this happening in a newer gun.
The new black buffers are made out of a different material. Kind of like boot soul material, not quite as hard as the originals. I have an 80 model 60 and 81 model 75C. Both with original springs. Feed throat conversion kit, Rear takedown screw, Ffront site and screw. Most of the Old style 60 parts were in stock. The only thing on backorder was the buffer. I had some light strike and misfires a few weeks ago and it was caused by a lot of carbon build-up in the receiver. The springs should be the same from old and new rifles, the firing pin and bolt assembly changed a little over the years though. Numrich, this link should be the older model 60.
