Some prefer Dino oil because it is cheaper and gives adequate protection for the motor. The dipstick should be inserted w/ the cap pushed all the way into the spout. The oil level should be between the two marks on the stick. I had changed the oil many times on my 96 CI Fatboy but this was the first time on the new 103 CI touring. I removed both of these plugs to change the engine and the tranny. This was according to Motorcycle.com the right thing to do.
