It's even beefier than my GP-100. I do not see any world where the 6" Python is a viable carry gun for most users. That said, it's not like the King Cobra Target is going to fall apart. I've said this before around here, but the KCT is actually a better replacement for the 4" Diamondback of old as opposed to the King Cobra of old.

What I can learn from research is that the Python was originally intended to be a 38 special target revolver. The changeover to the magnum was a last minute type of thing. Some say that the King Cobra was Colt's tacit admission that the Python wasn't designed for a steady diet of magnum loads becasue that model will handle the round.
