Use TK Dodge RE and select "step dodge" in the config. I coulda sworn CGO has an option for that in the MCM, but I don't have Skyrim installed atm. Any dodge will work better in third person. Get used to this idea. In third person you are seeing beyond and in the back of your char. So you can control him better.

The game may still have leftover script in it. It’s why it’s recommended to not remove mods from a save you are actively using. Start a new game and see if the problem transfers. If it doesn’t , you know the problem is the main save, and you will have to run a script cleaner and see if it catches the orphan script.There is a new mod called combat blocking overhaul which handles every thing blocking in a much superior way,. My hope with this post is that people who also struggle to make CGO (Combat Gameplay Overhaul) work can see this and fix it. No matter what I did, CGO just did not want to work ; dodge not working, grip change not working at all, no mid air melee attacks, nothing worked correctly, if it even worked.
