Botw firefly quest not working.

I'm trying to do this side quest in Kakariko village that requires me getting fireflies, but they are super hard to catch, and sometimes they just aren't there. I will go to a nearby campfire, change it to night, look around, and no fireflies. Rinse and repeat. Still no fireflies. I have three and I just need two more to complete this side quest.5.
