The RAV4 will objectively keep its value better than any competitor like the Tucson or Santa Fe or Escape. EDIT: after a lot of comments, here are my thoughts: You are paying for the exceptional engineering and reliability of Toyota more than a "luxury" and at this price it feels like its not a bad deal, but not a great one for the XSE with PP.

Under my first year of ownership (~110k) the cylinder head had to be replaced ~$2-3k repair. At ~120k the ABS actuator went bad ~$2-3k That same year I replaced the front struts myself. Later that year the lock actuator for one of the doors went bad, ~$800 repairs. In 2016 (160k) the airbag recall was performed.The CX5 was a close second, but the harsher ride and the lack of lane pushed us to the RAV4. On the CRV, it just looks too odd and the interior just felt too hectic. YMMV, the 8-speed transmission in the Rav4 is not very smooth. I had bought a 2020 Camry with one, and traded it in for a 2021 Camry without (hybrid). They released the MSRP for the new 2023 RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition, and I think it's within my budget! The RAV4 interior is a lot more "basic" than the CR-V. It's well done and it looks decent, but it's far from the luxury look of the CR-V. It has more space inside, at least visually speaking, I didn't measure anything. The visibility is much better and the transmission is so, so much better than the Honda.

Nothings changed for the 22 model as far as sound deadening goes. It’s a fairly noisy cabin with a fairly noisy engine. It's physically shorter by a couple of inches front to back than the Corolla, which makes maneuvering in the city easier. The suspension will handle bad roads better than the Corolla.
