As I understand it, JEPQ, like JEPI, do strategic covered calls. Whereas QYLD does a covered call on the whole QQQ index. If the fund managers choose wisely, they can do better with covered calls on stocks that would best return a premium. QYLD expense ratio is 0.60% whereas JEPQ is 0.35%. QYLD writes ATM calls.I have stopped balancing into it & QYLD. NUSI wasn't doing well but JEPI, DIVO & SCHD have been solid in this bear market. JEPI is even up the distribution ! NUSI & QYLD only makes up a small percentage of my portfolio now, the majority is in S&P, SCHD, DIVO & JEPI, which have been handling recent market volatility pretty well. JEPI is more diversified with 95 holdings, compared to DIVO's 23. JEPI is also much more popular, with about 6x the AUM of DIVO. JEPI has a lower fee of 0.35% compared to 0.55% for DIVO. JEPI has greater loading on the Value and Investment factors, while DIVO has greater loading on Size and Profitability, so they are holding different stocks.If I hold a growth fund that lags the market in gains, then that’d be different.
