I have the same problem with a 1992 Honda Accord LX. It was getting tougher and tougher to shift out of park. Once free of park, it would shift easily into and out of other gears. Now it is locked completely. Even the key override slot doesn't release it from park. We've removed the gearshift and button assembly and the boot over the gear shift.
