Gmc sierra radio display not working.

About one in 25-40 starts the steering wheel radio controls do not work. Once they do not work they will not work until the truck is shut off. Once I restart they may be fine for weeks. Checked connections and don't see anything out of order. Any thoughts. Through my purchase process I test drove the 2014 Silverado as well and while driving it noticed that the radio home screens are customization in terms of icon order and layout as well as themes. My GMC does not have this feature.

Put in a Deka 778DT. The swap was fine. Nothing abnormal about it. But when I went to drive the truck the radio didn't work. The screen doesn't come on. The buttons don't light up when I turn on the headlights. The buttons DO come on for 4-5 seconds when I hit the power button.

Except on mine it overlayed all the screens on to one screen. So on mine you would have it on radio, and all the other screens would show up on it. I took it they updated it and all is good now.
