I've been playing this game for a few years with my daughter. Just got ascended. We hate the tether, it ruins your game. Didn't mind buying this game again for the upgraded graphics but the tether has to go. Fix this. Any modders out there? We need your help. It can't be fixed. Tether distance doesn't work properly on ark ascended. I turned the tether distance up to 99 on my server , but when he runs 180 meters away from me, he gets the message "you're heading out of range! you need to get closer to the host player!. Does anyone know the fix for this? There isn't.

You can increase further then the slider allows by entering a number instead. Water and caves mess with the tether distance. If any of you have a halfway decent computer I would recommend running a dedicated server in the background on one of your computers. Or on a seperate computer if one of you have a spare.

When a player is hosting and playing on the same system there is a tether distance that keeps player 2 near the host to help the system render everything efficiently without trying to do the whole map at once.
